About Us

Deena PayneRoxy’s was opened in May 2003 by Deena Payne, 'Viv Hope' of Emmerdale. Having Been an ITP venue for many years before as Fayes Bar & Restaurant.

After Funny Girls had moved from Queen Street into it’s new home, The Old Odeon Cinema, Dickson Road. Basil and In The Pink Leisure decided that there was now a huge empty space, on lower Queen Street, that needed filling with a top quality entertainment venue and “Roxy’s” proved to be the new jewel in the ITP Leisure crown.

Basil had always been a fan of the production “Chicago” and chose the name “Roxy’s” from there. As you will see as you read on through this site the theme continues throughout the venue.

It was more good luck than anything else that the company was made aware that Manchester’s very own Miss Roxy Hart was looking to move away from the big city and was approached to come on board as resident DJ and Hostess. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Basil and Roxy had cemented a firm friendship throughout the years and as the venue was to be called “Roxy’s” it all fit into place quite perfectly.

Roxy has stood firm in her place as Queen of Queen Street and resident DJ and Hostess in the venue for almost 8 years now and the venue just goes from strength to strength attracting all ages from 18 to 80 and over the years appealing to a new generations of fun loving locals and tourists alike.
